Clause 7: Support

Any organization is legally bound to provide the occupational health and safety to workers or anyone else who might be affected by their activities, including physical and mental health. Accordingly, the adoption of the occupational health and safety management system enables the organization to successfully implement proper control measures to protect employees from work-related injuries and ill-health and continually improve the occupational health and safety performance

Q30: What is the duty of organization regarding resources?

The organization SHALL determine and provide resources to establish, maintain and implement OH&S management, continual improvement and opportunities.

Q31: What is the duty of organization regarding competence?

The organization SHALL:

  • Determine level of required competence of workers who affect or can affect health and safety performance.

      • What needs to be monitored and measured,
      • Methods for monitoring, measurement, analysis and performance evaluation,
      • Criteria by which the organization will evaluate performance;
      • When the monitoring and measuring shall be performed
  • Evaluate the OH&S performance and determine the effectiveness of the OH&S management system.
  • Ensure that monitoring and measuring equipment is calibrated or verified as applicable, and is used and maintained as appropriate.
  • Retain documented information as evidence of the results of monitoring and performance evaluation and,
  • On the maintenance, calibration or verification of measuring equipment.
